My Journey with Arrangements
I studied jazz theory, improvisation, arranging, and pedagogy throughout my education at Oakland University. During this time, I wrote several original jazz tunes and created an arrangement of the jazz standard Song for My Father for a combo to record
I also developed comprehensive jazz teaching materials for K–12 students, which were reviewed and certified by a jazz director with more than 20 years of experience. These materials reflect my interest in making jazz theory, improvisation, and foundational concepts accessible to developing musicians.
During the first year of the Oakland University Jazz Organization, I helped found the organization and served as its President, teaching college students the fundamentals of jazz and helping them develop their skills as musicians.
